A dynamic identity for SAIC’s Commencement Ceremony

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s commencement identity conveys the idea that graduation is a time of transition and not an end point. I drew inspiration from the Pritzker Pavilion’s tiled, flowing architecture and created a constantly transitioning animation that was carried across all of the materials. The result is an identity that reflects the unconventional nature of an art school while maintaining a formal tone that is appropriate for a commencement ceremony.

Every frame of this animation was printed as a ticket. The animation played on stage as graduates and guests were entering the park.
Each ticket is slightly unique.
